Internship & Volunteer Programs
There are many internship and volunteer programs, below are just a few. Also consider service with an industry or company in which you may later seek employment, or with a civic organization that you feel connected to, such as a food pantry, shelter or religious organization.
- The Peace Corps – The Peace Corps is a service opportunity for motivated changemakers to immerse themselves in a community abroad, working side by side with local leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges of our generation.
- AmeriCorps – AmeriCorps engages more than 75,000 Americans in intensive service each year at nonprofits, schools, public agencies, and community and faith-based groups across the country.
- Internships in the federal government – This Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed.
